Eleanore Dunn
I have been a member of the UCV since the mid 1980's. I’ve been part of the Membership Committee and Canvas Committee as well as ushering, staffing the welcome table and serving coffee on Sunday mornings. I sang in the Jazz Etc. Choir and recently am with the group looking into selling organic and locally grown food at the church.
Philomene Jahnke
I have enjoyed being a member of the Chalice Choir for several years, and have a passion for classical music. I have two adult children and am the proud grandmother of two grandsons, one in California and one in Vancouver. I retired a few years ago from a long career as a counsellor, working in a variety of settings, and finishing my career in the counselling department of Langara College.
Mary Lage
I have been a member of the church since 1992. It took me seven years of hanging around before I joined. It was meeting our partner church minister in Brasso, Romania that got me to take the plunge.
I was an ESL/Special Education teacher at Gilmore Elementary School in Burnaby, and retired in June 2009. I have two girls; Ann-Marie 23 and Stephanie 20, both at university.
I belong to three church committees: Partner Church, Environment and Ministerial Relations
Anne Niklewicz
I am speech / language pathologist in priviate practice. I recently retired from the Richmond school district and can spend more time in the Sunshine Coast where we hope to live one day. I have 3 daughters and enjoy gardening, kayaking, hiking, cross country skiing, knitting / sewing, and many cultural activities.
Alison Pearson
After living in Richmond for many years and attending UCV with my family we moved to South Surrey . I have continued to attend the church despite the distance as I love the community and singing in the choir. I am now retired and am often away visiting my three offspring and their families, who have unfortunately moved from the lower mainland. I spend much of my time enjoying the natural surroundings and everything this area has to offer.
Tony Roper
I am a retired medical doctor now in my seventies. I was born in England and did my medical training at Cambridge. I immigrated to Canada in 1969 and worked at Shaughnessy Hospital until 1975 when I changed to family practice. I have been married twice but am now divorced. I have no children. I was addicted to running until I wore out my knees. I now cycle and walk. I joined the Unitarian Church in Victoria in 1990 and have been a member of UCV since 2000. I am an active member of the Green Party. I am interested in current affairs, politics and trees.
Jane Sutherland
I am an elder with a lot of energy in me to enjoy yoga, swimming, walking, the life challenges and fun of committee work at the church, and the social contacts we have. I'm renewing an interest in bridge lessons. Family and friends are really the most important for me, and finding my way spiritually.
Cathy West
I am a nurse working for BC Women's Hospital. My job bridges the hospital and community and provides support for expectant mothers with complications. I found the Unitarian Church through the Chalice Choir and I continue to sing with this wonderful group.
Connie Wigmore
I enjoy singing with the Chalice Choir, and being part of many renovation projects through the Building and Grounds Committee. My three-year stint with the UCV Board broadened my understanding of the workings of the church. I deeply value the friendships I have developed through UCV. I retired from teaching in June 2009 with a lifetime of educational experience.
