Governance
The challenge and power of governance belongs to the congregation.

Together, members participate in the democratic process to determine the direction, budget, and priorities of the church.

We are a fully self-supporting, non-profit organization.

This congregational polity is a cornerstone of Unitarian history and is treasured as both a right and a duty.

“Because I am a member, I don’t just warm a pew – I participate in the process of being a church.”
Annual General Meeting
About the AGM
The Annual General Meeting is held in Hewett Centre usually in November. The Board of Trustees reports on the church year just ended and new board members are elected to replace retiring members.

The notice of meeting, nominating committee report, recommended board slate and proxy forms are posted under Meeting Material below for downloading.

Extraordinary General Meeting
About the EGM
An Extraordinary General Meeting is held in early summer so that members can vote on the UCV budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

Additional EGMs can be called to consider unusual matters that the congregation must be informed of and that require a congregational decision.

Annual Report 2010-11
About the Annual Report
This annual report summarizes the numerous activities both within the church itself and in the wider community carried out by the ministers, the staff and the many committees and groups. It covers the period from July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011. It's very interesting to read – we highly recommend it.
