Adult Religious Exploration

Lifespan Growth and Learning is an essential spiritual practice for Unitarians for whom education is an ongoing dimension of a religious life.  Classes for adults are scheduled throughout the year in sessions of 4-6 weeks, and there are some one-day workshops as well.

Both members and non-members are welcome to attend classes. Adult Religious Exploration brochures with class descriptions and times are available in the church brochure racks, the church office, in the monthly Bulletin, and on this website. Our ARE brochure is available to download from Resources on this page.

Childcare is available for children three years old and under whose parents are attending church programs. At least one week’s notice is required. For further information or to request childcare for a church event, please email the church office.

Facilitator: Jeannie Corsi
Tuesdays, March 23, 30, April 6, 13, 27, 7 to 9 pm
Fireside Room, Hewett Centre

The amazing and sometimes surprising interests and talents of UCV artists, musicians, and writers are showcased in this five-session course. Add your artistic voice as a presenter and as a participant with others in our church community!
Please email Jeannie Corsi for further details.

Sustainability 101: What is it? And What does it have to do with me?
Facilitator: Alexandra Henriques
Thursday, April 22, 7 to 9:30 pm, Fireside Room, Hewett Centre
$20 for facility/materials (subsidies available)

Adults are feeling overwhelmed by all the contradictory information about the environment in the media. This is an introduction to the issue of sustainability. The objectives of this workshop are to help participants get their bearings, and to be able to understand the issues from the roots up, to then be able to make the best informed decisions for themselves and their families.

Sustainable Leisure
Facilitator: Alexandra Henriques
Tuesday, May 4, 7 to 9pm, Fireside Room, Hewett Centre
$20 for facility/materials (subsidies available)

This is an opportunity for interested participants already somewhat aware of sustainability issues to put their determination into action. Summer holidays and warm-weather fun have this aura of harmlessness about them yet there is much we could do to protect the environment - and our health, while relaxing. The objective of the workshop is to help participants apply their awareness of sustainability to their summer activities and fun, and come away with concrete ideas to live more sustainably.

OR take both of the sustainability workshops for $30
